5th Anniversary

A Sol Y Luna Celebration

By Jan Walsh

The first year of a business is the hardest, says everyone who ever opened a restaurant. Sol Y Luna replies, “Hold my tequila!” The restaurant opened in Mountain Brook one month before Covid. Yet Owners, Jorge and Amiee Castro pivoted to serve the community’s needs, providing everything from margarita mixes to toilet paper via curb pick up. A couple of months later, for my birthday, we took advantage of this and had a private party on our screened in porch with our favorite Sol Y Luna dishes, margaritas, and churros with a birthday candle. You can guess what I wished for… And it has come true.

Today time stands still as the Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce is here for the ribbon cutting to celebrate Sol Y Luna’s 5th Anniversary. Jorge cuts the ribbon, Champagne flows, and glasses clink to the backdrop of live music. We stay for dinner and enjoy our favorite dishes and margarita specials of Perfect Margarita and Sol Y Luna Margarita, for only $10 this evening. We pair with favorites of Sol Y Luna Sampler, Queso Flameado with Chorizo, and Tomatillo Lobster Soft Taco. Highly recommended!

In addition to the anniversary celebration, this week, Sol Y Luna has a Spanish Wine Dinner on February 13, 2025. And mark your calendars for Feb 22, 2025 National Margarita Day, Sol Y Luna will have a DJ and signature margaritas for $9.00, plus beer and food specials.
