Chef Chris Evans culinary career began, after his graduation from Johnson and Wales, at Birmingham's Southtrust Bank in 1994. From 1995 until 1996 , he was sous chef at Poogan's Porch in Charleston, SC. And he served as sous chef at Cafe Dupont in Springville from 1997 until 2000. After a brief stint at Arman's at Park Lane, he moved to Asheville, NC to become sous chef at Horizons at Grove Park Inn from 2001 until 2003. Most recently he moved back to Birmingham and helped open Cafe Dupont in 2003 where he remains. Today he is executive chef at Cafe Dupont and co-owner with his wife, Angela Evans.
Angela is pastry arts teacher for Jefferson County and helps with the pastry program at Cafe Dupont as needed. Growing up in her father's bakeries and restaurants, she began working in them when she was 12-years-old. Later she served as head pastry chef with her father at his former catering company Chef Bob, from 2008-2018. From 2018 until 2019, she was a head Bakery manager at Diane Olexas Cakes. And most recently she served as her husband,Chris Evans's pastry chef from 2019-2021.
